About four years ago, I stopped making New Year’s Resolutions. Instead, I started picking a word of the year.
It has been liberating, encouraging, & life-giving. It’s a softer way to set intentions & goals for the year. It’s not so rigid & it’s all encompassing.
I love a start to a new year because it’s a like a fresh page in a notebook. It’s clean, crisp & anything can happen.
I first read about creating a word instead of New Year’s Resolutions in the book, “One Word that Will Change Your Life”. If you want to read more about the concept (and I encourage you to do it), snag it here.
My words have been: Abundance, Thrive, Build & for 2019 it’s Abide.
If my 2019 word shocks you, it shocks me & my husband too! That being said, I am a highly spiritual person & I don’t pick a word for myself, I let it pick me. And this year, that was the word I kept hearing. And as I was supposed to, I abided.
Do you have a word for 2019? If you do, I would love to hear it! Share on our FB Community – Curiously Good Life or email me directly!
