Southwest Turkey Burgers

So I’m not gonna lie…. I’ve never much liked Turkey Burgers. They always seemed overly dry and tasteless. The ones that I had there weren’t were totally peppery.

Even with all this, I tried to make my own. And lo & behold…. I couldn’t stop eating them! This recipe makes enough for dinner & leftovers! You’ve got to love that.

1 lb Organic Ground Turkey

1 egg

2 Cloves Garlic, finely diced

1 large Shallot or 1/4 Red Onion finely diced

1 teaspoon Oregano

2 tablespoons chopped fresh Cilantro

1/2 small bell pepper, seeded & finely chopped (you can also use a roasted red pepper)

1 teaspoon Aleppo Pepper or Red Pepper flakes

2 teaspoons ground Cumin

1 teaspoon grill seasoning

Optional:

1/2 pound deli sliced Pepper Jack Cheese

8 slider buns, split

Lettuce

Tomatoes

Pickled Onions

Avocado

Cilantro

  1. Heat up your grill

  2. Chop up all your veggies & garlic

  3. Combine ground turkey, egg, garlic, shallot, oregano, cilantro, bell pepper, aleppo pepper, cumin, grill seasoning & salt & pepper.

  4. Make ground turkey mixture into patties. I got about 8 patties out of mine.

  5. Grill burgers for about 5 minutes a side. You don’t want to be turning these too often as they can fall apart. So if it looks like they need a few more minutes on a side, just let them have it.

  6. If you are using, you’ll want to add these to the burgers about a minute before they are done.

  7. Once done, serve with all your toppings!

  8. Enjoy!
