Tomatoes, Basil & Mozzarella

This recipe sounds so simple but I truly believe I’ve perfected it.  The perfection is in it’s simplicity & quality of its ingredients.

It’s a five ingredient recipe that will change the way you look at food forever.  It definitely changed my life and I hope it changes yours.

If you can find homegrown tomatoes, get them.

If you can find homegrown basil, get it.

If you can find fresh mozzarella, made that day, get it. (hint, look at a nice Italian restaurant)

You MUST get good balsamic vinegar & olive oil.  Here’s a couple options I like… Balsamic Vinegar & Olive Oil


1 – 2 lbs of the best tomatoes you can find (homegrown, organic, heirloom)

Fresh Basil (again the best you an find)

Fresh Mozzarella (I sound like a broken record, the freshest & best you can find)

Balsamic Vinegar (see above)

Olive Oil (see above)

  1.  Simply start with the best ingredients.
  2. Now all you need to do is cut up the tomatoes, mozzarella, pull the basil leaves, place on a plate how you like, drizzle with olive oil & vinegar, add salt & pepper to taste.
  3. I often serve with crusty hot bread BUT I don’t eat it, my family does.  You decide what you would like to do.
  4. Enjoy.
