I started making my own taco seasoning instead of buying a packet because even the “organic” packets had funky ingredients in them. Which I have to say, is really weird to me because it’s just spices. Aren’t spices used for preserving anyways??
What happened was I made the BEST TACO SEASONING EVER!!
My Mom came over, complained about why I was making taco seasoning, then proceeded to eat my tacos & couldn’t stop talking about how amazing they were. Typical right??
My friend came over who has picky children, they couldn’t stop eating my tacos and then couldn’t stop asking their mom for them.
So then, I felt like the world NEEDED to know all about it. Without further ado….
1 Tablespoon Chili Powder
1/4 Teaspoon Garlic Powder
1/4 Teaspoon Onion Powder
1/4 Teaspoon Crushed Red Pepper Flakes
1/4 Teaspoon Dried Oregano
1/2 Teaspoon Paprika
1 1/2 Teaspoon Cumin
1 Teaspoon Sea Salt
- Mix all spices together in a small bowl and set to the side.
- Cook whatever protein you are using in a skillet – make sure to brown it.
- Pour the seasoning in & add a 1/2 cup of water.
- Mix & evaporate the water.
